The Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Cross Country Team finished the 39th Annual UC Riverside Cross Country Invitational in second place on Saturday morning, with sophomore Lila Cardillo finishing first amongst collegiate runners. The Sagehens scored 53 points on the 5K course and saw three runners finish in the top-5 among collegians.
The Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Cross Country Team impressed in their season opener, clinching the top four spots in the Pomona-Pitzer/Oxy Dual Meet on Saturday morning. The Sagehens won the dual meet over Occidental College, scoring 16 points, while the Tigers finished with 46.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2018 All-SCIAC Cross Country team on Friday morning. The First Team All-SCIAC honors were determined by the top-10 finishers at the SCIAC Championships, while the Second Team Honors were awarded to the next 10 to finish the race.
The No. 16 Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Cross Country Team is ready to pursue the finish line as they head to Chino, California tomorrow for the SCIAC Championship at Prado Park. Helen Guo of the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Cross Country Team was named SCIAC Athlete of the Week after an outstanding run at the UC Riverside Invitational. Competing in the 5K open race, Guo finished in sixth place overall, first among collegiate runners, with a time of 17:26.1. Her performance helped the Sagehens take second overall at the meet.
The Pomona-Pitzer Athletics Program combined for the most student-athletes named to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic teams, leading the conference for the third straight season.
The United States Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association awarded Helen Guo to All-Academic Honors on Friday morning. This honor is given the student-athletes that made top-25 in their regional championships and posted a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.
ELSAH, IL -- Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Cross Country runners Lauren Hamilton and Helen Guo had impressive ends to their seasons at the NCAA National Championships hosted by Principia College on Saturday morning.
The United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association recognized Lauren Hamilton and Helen Guo on the All-Region Honors on Monday. The top-35 runners at each Regional Championship were selected to receive this award. A total of 280 women from 239 programs were given this distinction.
The Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Cross Country team hosted the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational at Strehle Track and finished in second place (99 points) behind meet-winner Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday morning. Every school in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) were present at the meet as well as several Division II and NAIA programs.
