CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Cross Country Team continued their impressive run through the season with a second-place finish at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday morning. The Sagehens finished with 62 points while first-place Cal Poly Pomona ended with 34 points. University of Redlands was third with 89 points.
"We ran well on our home course," said Head Coach Kirk Reynolds. "We'll be back here for the Conference Championships and we are hosting the NCAA West Region meet here in mid-November, so this was a chance to introduce our first-years to both the home course and to the 6000 meter race distance. We had some outstanding races, including Abby and Ela running strong races up in our top-five scoring positions."
Helen Guo took the spotlight in the 6K race with a first-place finish at 22:09.8. Abigail Loiselle also finished within the top-10 at eighth with a time of 22:58.9. Ela Nickels placed 11th at 23:08.5 and Sophia West crossed in 19th at 23:32.9. Rosie Linkus took 23rd at 23:48.4 and Claire LeBlanc followed right behind her in 24th at 23:58.5. Lilly Bar was 31st among collegiate racers at 24:19.8.
