Women's Water Polo: Five Sagehens Earn ACWPC All-American Honors

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo team had five athletes named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division III All-American teams as announced by the ACWPC on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sagehens had two athletes earn First Team honors with seniors Natalie Hill and Anna Yu, one Sagehen earned Second Team honors with senior Morgan Stockham and two more Sagehens earned Honorable Mention honors with first-year Nadia Paquin and senior Kyla Pickell.

Hill earned First Team All-American for the second consecutive season after she earned the Sothern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Year award earlier this season. Hill led the Sagehens this season with 67 points coming off of 32 goals and a team-high 35 assists. Yu returns to the All-American list after she earned Honorable Mention honors a season ago and also earned First Team All-American honors as an attacker with a team-high 40 goals and 11 assists for a total of 51 points.

Stockham made her way on the Second Team All-American selections as a goalkeeper. Stockham was First Team All-SCIAC this season as she tallied 204 saves with a .469 save percentage.

Pickell ended her career as a Sagehen with Honorable Mention All-American honors and Second Team All-SCIAC honors as she tallied 30 points this season off of 20 goals and 10 assists. She also finished with 38 steals this season.

Paquin capped off a stellar first season for the Sagehens and was also named Second Team All-SCIAC after ending the year with 35 points off of 31 goals and four assists.

The Sagehens ended the season with their third-straight undefeated conference regular season and were 20-13 overall. The Sagehens had their season end and their SCIAC streak snapped in the SCIAC Championship game where they fell to Cal Lutheran 10-9.
