Sagehens Defeat Whittier and La Verne in Home Multi Dual

CLAREMONT, Ca. - The Pomona-Pitzer women's track and field team defeated Whittier 80-65 and La Verne 99-39 in their home Multi Dual on Saturday. The Sagehens will be back in action on March 11 when they travel to Occidental College.

The Sagehens were led by strong performances from a number of athletes. Jenna Lange won the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:52.85. Her teammates Mira Terdiman and McKayla Proulx finished second and fourth, respectively, in the same race. The trio's dominant showing in the race earned the Sagehens 24 points. In the 100m, Tene Ariyo led the Sagehens with a third-place finish, running 13.17 seconds. 

In the women's 5000-meter race, Abigail Loiselle won with a time of 18:33.69, followed by Rhea Braganza and Joya Terdiman in second and third place, respectively. 

In the field events, Ella Bowers was a standout, winning both the women's long jump and triple jump events. Bowers' distance of 5.06m in the long jump and 10.87m in the triple jump earned her 18 points for the Sagehens.

Other notable performances for Pomona-Pitzer included Olivia Reichle, who finished fifth in the 200-meter dash (26.96s) and was a member of the second-place 4x400 meter relay team, and  Nicole Player, who finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.
