ORANGE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Swimming and Diving team defeated Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Chapman 225-62 on Saturday morning at Chapman University.
The Sagehens also kicked off the individual events with a win as Anna Newman took first in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 18:07.69.
Kirtland came back with a win in the 100 Yard Breaststroke clocking in at 1:11.29 and first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:24.01. Denend also came back with an individual win in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a first place time of 54.99.
Alex Gill finished in first place in the 50 Yard Freestyle at 25.46 and also took first in the 100 Yard Butterly with a time of 1:00.19.
The Sagehens ended the day with a win in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay as the B team of Dao, Denend, Kirsten Mortimer and Newman took first with a time of 1:40.24.
During the diving portion of the meet, the Sagehens took first, second and third in the one-meter dive. Emma van der Veen took first at 157.00, Ruby Epstein in second at 251.35 and Eleanor Mackey in third at 215.30. During the three-meter dive, Epstein took first with a score of 263.90, van der Veen in second at 243.20 and Mackey in third at 214.55.
