CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Swim & Dive team ended their home schedule with a SCIAC dual win 231-62 over Whittier College and a 229-69 win over Caltech on Senior Day at Haldeman Pool.
The Sagehens had 10 wins in their final home meet of the season as well as
set a new Haldeman Pool record in the 800 Freestyle Relay as the Sagehen A team of Jennifer Lenertz, Katherine Lauerman, Abby Smith and Haley Kirtland finished with a new best of 7:42.40. The Sagehens also had two NCAA cuts in divers Emma van der Veen and Eleanor Mackey.
Kirsten Mortimer followed with the first individual win of the day for the Sagehens as she finished in first in the 1650 Yard Free with a time of 19:03.22.
Lauerman came back and took first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:57.85 and also earned a win the 500 Yard Freestyle as well with a time of 5:12.53.
Gill also came back with another win in her individual events in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a top time of 1:05.95 as well as first place in the 100 Yard Fly at 59.63.
Denend took first in her individual event as well in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.13 while Kirtland earned a win in the 100 Yard Freestyle as she clocked in with a time of 54.39 and Alex Werner ended the wins for the day for the Sagehens as she took first place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke clocking in at 2:25.18.
In the diving portion of the meet, the Sagehens took first, second and third in the three-meter dive. Emma van der Veen took first at 235.35, Ruby Epstein took second at 220.50 and Eleanor Mackey finished in third with a score of 219.05. In the one-meter dive, the Sagehens swept the top three again with van der Veen in first at 236.65, Mackey in second at 227.70 and Epstein in third at 222.50.
