Women's Swim & Dive: Sagehens Split Dual Meet With Simon Fraser And Redlands

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Swimming and Diving team split in their home meet with a 183-59 win over SCIAC opponent Redlands and fell to Simon Fraser 128-109 on Saturday afternoon at Haldeman Pool.

Denise Dao finished in second place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:02.19 and just behind her was Alex Morse in third at 1:03.36. 

The Sagehens took 2-4 in the 50 Yard Freestyle.  Hannah Zurmuhl led all Sagehens with a second-place finish of 25.46 followed by Victoria Agostini with 25.81 and Farnham at 26.04.

Katherine Lauderman took second In the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:04.67 and then also took second and third in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Jennifer Lenertz finished in second with a time of 2:01.07 and Haley Kirtland followed with a time of 2:01.23.

The Sagehens just missed a win in the 200 Yard Medley Relay as the team of Zurmuhl, Alex Gill, Abby Smith and Kate Denend ended with a second-place time of 1:51.74.

In the diving portion of the meet, the Sagehens took first in the 1 meter dive as Winnie Xu finished with a 214.30. Eleanor Mackey took third with a score of 198.50 and Emma van der Veen took fourth at 187.30.  During the 3-meter dive, van der Veen finished first overall with a score of 216.30, Winnie Xu finished in second at 189.65 and Eleanor Mackey took fourth at 171.95.
