Women's Golf: Sagehens End Confluence In First Place

Walla Walla, WA. - The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Golf Team concluded their busy fall season this past weekend in Walla Walla, WA at the Whitman Confluence Classic. The event was held at two golf courses (Veterans Golf Course for round 1 and Wine Valley Golf Club for round 2). Despite tough playing conditions, The Sagehens battled hard through the severe wind and rain to secure their first victory of 2019-2020, winning by 8 shots (team total of 638).

The Sagehens were led by sophomore Stephanie Yu who capped off an amazing fall season with medalist honors, highlighted by a career best 68 in the second round and a two round total of +5. She impressively overcame a 6 shot deficit to take home the individual title. Following Yu was Junior transfer Abby Euyang who fired rounds of 83, 80 (+19) to secure yet another top-5 finish (solo 4th). Right behind Euyang were senior Andi Chaloult and sophomore Annabelle Huether who each fired two-round totals of +20 to finish in 5th place. Rounding out the Sagehens was first year Yena Jang who fired rounds of 86, 84 (+26) to just miss out on a top-10 (11th).

Next Up: The Sagehens look to build off of their impressive fall season after a win and two runner-up finishes. The team will take some time off and gear up for their primary spring season of play.
