CLAREMONT, CA. -- The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Golf Team travelled to Canby, OR to compete in the Culturame Classic at Willamette Valley Country Club this past weekend.
The Sagehens continue to impress this Fall Season, recording another 2nd place finish (two round total of 615). They almost caught the eventual winners, George Fox, cutting the ten shot deficit after day one to just five when all was said and done.
The Hens were led by Sophomore Stephanie Yu who recorded her best ever collegiate finish, firing impressive rounds of 76,75 (+7) to secure a 2nd place finish. She ended the tournament just one shot behind medalist honors. Following Yu was Junior transfer Abby Euyang. Euyang continues to show that she will be a key addition to the team, recording another solid performance with rounds of 78,75 (+9) to secure a 3rd place finish.
Right behind Euyang was First-Year Yena Jang. Jang also continues to thrive in her debut season. She fired rounds of 78,77 (+11), securing solo 7th. Senior Andi Chaloult followed her back-to-back 2nd place finishes with another top-10 this weekend. She fired two consecutive rounds of 78 (+12) to land her an 8th place finish. Rounding out the Sagehens was Sophomore Annabelle Huether who overcame a tough start, firing rounds of 84,80 (+20) to finish in 17th place.
Next Up: The Sagehens will be packing their bags and competing in Walla Walla, WA at the Confluence Classic October 19th – October 20th
