REDLANDS, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer softball team defeated North Central (Ill.) 2-0 on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Sagehens are now 8-7 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow and Saturday when they start conference play with three games against La Verne.

Pomona-Pitzer wasted no time getting on the board as Devin Waddell hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning to put the Sagehens up 1-0. In the second inning, Addie Wasikonis singled down the right field line to bring in Bella Carreon, doubling the Sagehens lead to 2-0. Devin Waddell pitched a near perfect game, allowing just one hit with two walks, six strikeouts and no runs.
