NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- Ethan Widlansky earned West Athlete of the Year while Head Coach Jordan Carpenter earned West Coach of the Year as the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Cross Country team had all seven of its athletes earn All-West Region honors after the NCAA West Regional on Saturday morning.
CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens earned the 2019 West Regional Championship on their home course on Saturday morning behind the West Regional Individual Champion Ethan Widlansky who ended with a top time of 25.00.07. This title marks the third-straight West Region Title for the Sagehens.
The No. 9 Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Cross Country Team had a spectacular showing at the Kollege Town Sports Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. The Sagehens finished second overall behind No. 1 North Central (Illinois) with a final team score of 79 points.
The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Cross Country Team set new milestones at the Capital Cross Challenge hosted by UC Davis as the Sagehens finished in fifth place overall with 211 points. They set the program record with four athletes finishing under 25:00 in the same meet.
The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Cross Country continue their adjustment into the season, sending two teams to compete at the 39th Annual UC Riverside Cross Country Invitational. The Sagehens placed sixth in the 8k Invitational race and second in the 8k Open Team race.
CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Cross Country Team made their season debut on Saturday morning at a dual meet against Occidental College. The Sagehens saw five runners finish within the top-10 in the 6K course, closing the meet with 31 points, while Occidental won with 24.
