
CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to Bowdoin on Friday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 7-7 on the year.
Pomona-Pitzer got behind their NESCAC foes 2-1 after doubles player with the Sagehens only getting a win at the #3 spot.
In the first doubles match, Bowdoin's Tristan Bradley and Reid Staples defeated Eshaan Lumba and Matthew Feng with a score of 8-1 and in the second doubles match, Pieter Breuker and Ethan Bradley of Bowdoin defeated Hayden Snyder and Mukund Madabhushi 8-5. The Sagehens ended doubled with a win as Ethan Lee and Neil Chulani secured a win with a score of 8-3 against Bowdoin's Jack Flores and Andrew Mendelson.
After facing a 2-1 deficit heading into singles, the Sagehens managed to grab one win out of the six solo matches against the Bears. Tristan Bradley of Bowdoin defeated Hayden Snyder of with a score of 6-4, 6-4 in the first singles match. In the second singles match, Reid Staples of Bowdoin played against Mukund Madabhushi in three sets, but Staples came out with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win.
Pieter Breuker of Bowdoin faced defeated Ethan Lee in the third singles match and won in three sets with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, Bowdoin's Mark Kneiss defeated Eshaan Lumba with a score of 6-2, 6-1, and Ethan Bradley of Bowdoin defeated Matthew Feng with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
Neil Chulani secured the only win of the singles matches for the Sagehens with a score of 6-3, 6-1. As the Sagehens fell to Bowdoin at home.
