
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's swim and dive team performed well in the final session of the 2023 NCAA Swim and Dive Championships, advancing Larry Yu in the 200 breaststroke and the 400 free relay squad to this evenings Championship Finals. The Sagehens finished this year's Championships in 16th place overall with 84 team points.
Morning Prelims
In the 100 free, Tag Curwen swam a 45.81 second race to finish in 27th place overall. In the 200 breaststroke, Larry Yu turned in the fourth best performance in the morning session, swimming a 1:58.05 to earn his spot in tonight's Championship Final, dropping 1.08 seconds from his seed time. In the 400 free relay, Adrian Clement, Tag Curwen, Ted Hwang, and Larry Yu combined for a time of 3:00.05, dropping 0.53 seconds from their seed time to earn their spot in the Championship Final.
Evening Finals
Larry Yu was the lone individual swimmer for the Sagehens, earning All-American honors in the 200 breast with a sixth place finish after touching the wall in 1:58.82. In the 400 free relay, Adrian Clement, Ted Hwang, Tag Curwen, and Larry Yu combined for a time of 2:59.69 to cap off the 2023 NCAA Swim and Dive Championships with another All-American honor.
