CLAREMONT, CA. – The Sagehens competed in the CMS Invite with individuals swimming in their last meet before the SCIAC Championships on Saturday morning at Axelrood Pool.
The Sagehens started off the individual events with a win in the 200 Yard IM as Liam O'Shea took first with a time of 1:55.86.
Andrew Garcia followed up with a win as he took first in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 4:12.67. Ben Cote won the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 52.26, Jason Lu then took first in the 100 Yard Backstroke as he finished with a top time of 52.61 and Tag Curwen took first in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 47.23.
During the diving section of the meet, the Sagehens took second, third and fourth as Jem Stern took second with a score of 294.35, Ben Willet took second with a score of 267.45 and Bilgunn Altantulkhuur took fourth at 263.80.
In the three-meter dive, the Sagehens also placed the same as Stern took second at 307.65, Willet in third at 289.05 and Altantulkhuur in fourth at 274.75.
The Sagehens also took first in the Mixed 200 Yard Medley Relay as Allison Liu, Lukas Ming Menkhoff, Greg Havton and Haley Kirtland finished in first with a time of 1:38.65. Pomona-Pitzer also won the Mixed 200 Yard Freestyle as well as Will Abele, Hannah Zurmuhl, Katherine Lauerman and Nick Borowsky took first with a time of 1:31.60.
Up Next: The Sagehens will next compete in the SCIAC Championships on Saturday, February 15th at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
