LOS ANGELES, CA. -- The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swimming & Diving team earned a 197.00 – 91 win over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Occidental College on Saturday afternoon.
The Sagehens have now won against back-to-back SCIAC opponents coming off of a win over Redlands in the previous week.
The Sagehens won a whopping 14 events in their meet against Occidental College.
Dylan Hou started the wins for the Sagehens with a first place finish in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:07.35.
Anzo DeGuilio won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:45.23 as Tim Hough followed in second at 1:47.84. Lukas Ming Menkhoff earned a win in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 57.92 with Hou in second at 1:01.79.
DeGuilio and Menkhoff came back to finish first and second in the 50 Yard Freestyle with DeGuilio finishing with a top time of 21.98 and Menkhoff in second at 22.19. The pair also took first and second in the 100 Yard Freestyle as DeGuilio finished first at 47.50 and Menkhoff in second at 48.19.
Tag Curwen and Walter Lee finished first and second in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Curwen ended with a top time of 54.71 with Lee clocking in at 55.00. The Sagehens went on to take first and second as well in the 200 Yard Butterfly with Matthew Choi winning at 1:57.02 and Benjamin Cote in second at 1:58.20. Curwen came back for his second win of the day with a first place finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:59.26. Choi earned his second win of the day in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:15.98 with Hough in second at 2:20.52 and then Choi earned win number three with a top time in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:03.60.
Hough then earned two more wins on the day with a first place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle at 4:57.34 and a win in the 100 Yard Butterfly at 51.61.
Pomona-Pitzer went on to win two relays in the meet. The first of which was the 400 Yard Medley Relay where Tag Curwen, Matthew Choi, Walter Lee and Tim Hough earned a first place time of 3:35.34. the second came in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay as DeGuilio, Menkhoff, Hou and Russel Benoy finished with a time of 1:28.48.
In the diving section of the meet, the Sagehens took first and second in the one-meter dive. Jem Stern took first with his score of 278.20 while teammate Bilguun Altantulkhuur took second at 199.60. Stern followed up with a win in the three-meter dive as well with a first-place score of 299.95. Altantulkuur took third in the three-meter dive with a score of 207.90.
