Men's Swim & Dive: Sagehens Split Meet VS Simon Fraser And Redlands

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swimming and Diving team walked away with a split in their Saturday meet with a 188-49 win over SCIAC opponent Redlands and a narrow 120.50-115 loss against Simon Fraser at Haldeman Pool.

During the swimming portion of the meet, the Sagehens had four first place finishes. 

Anzo DeGuilio had two first place finishes for the Sagehens.  The first came as he won the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 21.72. The second one came in the 100 Yard Freestyle as he took first with a time of 47.15.

Lukas Ming Menkhoff also had a first-place finish as he won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 57.72.  Menkhoff came back with a second place finish in the 100 Yard IM where he finished with a time of 54.49.

The Sagehens also had a relay team earn a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.  The team of Deguilio, Nick Borowsky, Tag Curwen and Will Abele ended with a top time of 1:25.91.

Pomona-Pitzer just missed another top relay finish as the team of Borowsky, Menkhoff, Tim Hough and Curwen finished in second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:35.88.

The Sagehens Also finished 2, 3 and 4 in the 200 Yard Freestlye. Abele took second with a time of 1:44.33, Dylan Hou followed with a time of 1:44.60 and Jason Lu took fourth with a time of 1:45.46.

In the diving portion of the meet, the Sagehens went 1, 2, 3 in the 1 meter dive.  Jem Stern took first overall with a score of 229.30, Ben Willett took second with 221.50 and Billy Altlantulkhuur took third with a score of 180.40.  For the 3-meter dive, The Sagehens also took first, second and third as well. Sterm took first again with a score of 241.30, Willet in second at 228.45 and Altantulkhuur in third at 169.25.
