CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer Team took a tough 2-0 loss against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday evening. While both sides were limited with their shots at goal, CMS were able to convert their chances to take the victory.
Season Impact: The Sagehens are 3-7-2 overall and 2-4-1 in SCIAC.
Jorge Guillen-Lopez almost found the opener for the Sagehens in the first goal when his shot was saved in the 15th minute. CMS later had a good luck at goal in the 37th minute as Nate Brody attempted a shot, but Jonathan Rushton made the save to preserve the shutout. However, neither sides were able to find clean chances for the remainder of the first half.
CMS found the back of the net early in the second half as Cole Smith scored in the 53rd minute. The Stags continued to play aggressively on offense and found their second goal in the 74th minute from Jake Allmon.
