
MOORPARK, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf team finished in third place at the CLU Kingsmen Invitational on Monday and Tuesday morning at Moorpark Country Club.
The Sagehens shot a 299 in the first round and a 298 in the second round for a combined score of 597, which was eight strokes off of second place La Verne at 591.
Leading the way for the Sagehens was John Kim, who finished tied for third individually with a score of 143. Kim shot a 73 in the first round and improved his score in the second round with a 70. Kim totaled four birdies in round one and five birdies in round two for his third-place finish.
Tucker Lee also had a solid performance, finishing tied for tenth place with a score of 148. Lee shot a consistent 74 in both rounds with two birdies on each day to be the second Sagehen inside the top 10.
Yuki Bannai finished tied for 14th place with a score of 149. Bannai shot a 73 in the first round with a string of three birdies in five holes and came back for a 76 in the second round with birdies at holes 10 and 16.
Ryan Ruaysungnoen finished tied for 35th place with a score of 157. Ruaysungnoen shot a 79 in the first round and a 78 in the second round while David Wong rounded out the Sagehens' performance, finishing tied for 56th place with a score of 172. Wong shot an 89 in the first round but improved his score in the second round with an 83 to end the tournament for Pomona-Pitzer.
