Knox Earns Top 10 Finish At SCIAC No. 2

Chino Hills, Calif. - Junior Kevin Knox tied for 10th overall with a two-day 148 (+4) at SCIAC Regular Season Championship No. 2, which was held on Saturday and Sunday at Los Serranos Country Club.

Knox was 14th after his 74 on Saturday, but moved up four spots on Sunday by duplicating his 74 in windier conditions for Pomona-Pitzer, which finished seventh as a team. Knox has now scored in the 70s in 11 of 12 rounds this season, with the only exception coming when he shot an even 80.

Another highlight of the weekend was sophomore Joe Wagner (pictured) who eagled twice in one round by holing approach shots of 150 yards or more on his way to a 78. Junior Jordan Fox also had a strong weekend with a 77 and a 76, while junior Mitchell Weeks had his best round of the spring with a 78 on Sunday.

Keegan Sheard of Cal Lutheran was the individual winner after shooting a remarkable 63 on Saturday (28 on the back nine) and following up with a 73 on Sunday for a 136 to win by two strokes over Bobby Holden of Redlands (68-70-138). Redlands won the team championship by shooting three-under for the two day event with a 573.

Pomona-Pitzer is back in action on April 25-27 for the SCIAC Championships, which will be held at Oak Valley Golf Club.
