CLAREMONT, CA. – The Jewish Sports Review named Alex Gold, Elan Harris, and Josh Portnoy to the 2018 All-American Team for their outstanding performances in the gridiron for the Pomona-Pitzer Football Team.
Alex Gold posted a career-high 56 tackles and recorded five tackles for losses and a sack. He also broke up five passes for the Sagehens.
Elan Harris led the team with six interceptions and broke up five passes. He also recorded 35 tackles and forced a fumble this past season.
Josh Portnoy recorded 43 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and had 6.5 tackles for losses. He also broke up one pass and recorded a blocked kick.
In order to qualify for this honor, an athlete must have at least one Jewish parent, not practice another faith, and identify ethnically as a Jew. The Jewish Sports Review has been around since June 1997 and is only available through paid subscriptions.
