With a sparkling 32:14.23 in her 10,000-meter track debut in December, Sagehen great Maya Weigel ’17 earned a berth to the 2021 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in June in Eugene, Oregon. Weigel becomes the fifth Pomona-Pitzer Track & Field woman to qualify to the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials. Weigel joins Jenny Stary (Pomona ’80), Kiyomi Parish (Pomona ’97), Camille Matonis (Pitzer ’15), and Amy Watt ‘(Pomona ’20) on an illustrious list.
