Brandon Johnson enters his first year as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Pomona-Pitzer Athletics in 2021.

As the Senior Associate Director, Johnson will assist the Director of Athletics in all day-to-day operations and decision-making of the Department of Physical Education and Athletics. He will also serve as a liaison for designated Pomona and Pitzer campus offices for athletics, with an emphasis on compliance, student-athlete programming, and internal operations

Brandon Johnson joined Pomona-Pitzer Athletics in 2014 as the department's director of intramurals, club sports, and recreation. Johnson has also taken over as the Faculty and Staff Fitness and Wellness Coordinator in 2018. 

Johnson joined the Sagehen staff after working in the intramural and recreation departments at four different colleges. Most recently, he served as the coordinator for intramurals at The Well at Sacremento State for the last two years, where he facilitated the operations of over 500 teams and almost 6,000 participants, and supervised a staff of 40 student employees.   

Previously, Johnson spent two years at Western Michigan University as a graduate assistant in the intramural sports department. While at Western Michigan, he designed and wrote sports policies and rules for 19 sports, managed three facilities, and hired, scheduled, trained and developed over 50 officials. 

As an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, he was heavily involved in intramurals and recreation, while also serving as an interim assistant director of intramural sports for one year after graduation. While studying at Michigan, Johnson also had an internship in the Lawrence Technological University recreation department in 2007. 

Johnson earned his bachelor of science degree in engineering from Michigan in December of 2009, concentrating in civil engineering and structures. He then earned his master's degree in sport management from Western Michigan in 2012.
