Four Sagehens Earn SCIAC Athlete Of The Week

 CLAREMONT, CA. – Pomona-Pitzer had four athletes earn Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week honors with junior Izzy Deatherage (Softball), sophomore Lukas Ming Menkhoff (Men's Swim & Dive), sophomore Jed Kronenberg (Men's Tennis) and senior Kahea Kahaulelio (Women's Water Polo) all earning the award as announced by the league office.

Izzy Deatherage

Deatherage helped pace Pomona-Pitzer to a 2-0 week that saw the Sagehens top Puget Sound, 5-3 and 13-1 (5 inn.). Deatherage was 3-for-7 at the plate with two runs scored, and four RBI. She batted .429 for the week, with a .429 on-base percentage and a .429 slugging percentage. In the field she registered two putouts and six assists in eight total chances with zero miscues.

Lukas Ming Menkhoff

Menkhoff earned his second SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor as he led Pomona-Pitzer at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite by clocking a Haldeman Pool record in the 50-yard butterfly (22.36). He also broke the school and pool record in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 51.17.

Jed Kronenberg

Kronenberg helped Pomona-Pitzer to a 2-0 week that featured SCIAC wins over California Lutheran (6-3) and Whittier (8-1). Kronenberg collected a No. 2 doubles victory (8-4), and a 6-1, 6-1 No. 1 singles win against the Kingsmen, and then won his No. 1 singles contest against Whittier, 6-4, 6-3 to go 3-0 on the week.

Kahea Kahaulelio

Kahaulelio paced Pomona-Pitzer to a 1-3 week that featured an 8-6 overtime win over Santa Clara, and losses to Southern California, Long Beach State, and San Diego State. The Waialua, Hawai'i native scored against USC, and then twice against Long Beach State in addition to picking up an assist. She also found the back of the net in the win over Santa Clara.

SCIAC Athlete of the Week Release
