  • Jed Kronenberg Invited To NCAA Individual Championship

    The NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Committee selected Jed Kronenberg of the Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis program to compete in the singles competition of the 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships. For the individual championships, the committee selected seven singles players from each of the four regions based on win-loss record, strength of schedule, and eligibility.
  • Men's Tennis: Sagehens Clinch Four All-SCIAC Honors

    The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2018 All-SCIAC Teams on Friday, selecting four members of the Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Team onto the list. Freshman Jed Kronenberg was voted SCIAC Newcomer of the Year, the first ever in program history, after an outstanding season in which he went 25-7 in singles action. His teammates Joshua Gearou, Octave Bellet, and Marko Mandic earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors.

    The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Team saw their season come to an end in the SCIAC Final on Saturday afternoon, taking a 5-1 loss to the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags. The Sagehens salvaged one point in the doubles round, but dropped three matches in singles as the Stags clinched the SCIAC Final.

    The No. 11 Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Team overcame the hot weather and a resilient Caltech team to advance to the final round of the SCIAC Tournament after a 5-1 victory. The Sagehens edged out the Beavers with a tight 2-1 advantage in a testy doubles round and pulled through in singles thanks to victories by Jed Kronenberg, Quinn Hirsohn, and Octave Bellet.

    The No. 11 Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis program will be kicking off their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference run on Friday, May 4 as they host Caltech at Pauley Tennis Complex at 3 p.m. The Sagehens finished the regular season with a 15-8 record overall and 6-1 in the SCIAC, improving from last season’s third-place finish by one spot.
  • Men's Tennis: Kronenberg Finishes Runner Up At Ojai Tournament

    Jed Kronenberg concluded his Ojai Invitational run with a second place finish after falling to Nikolai Parodi in the final round on Sunday afternoon. The freshman performed exceptionally well over the weekend, winning four matches before reaching the final showdown against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sophomore. He lost in two sets 6-2 and 6-0.

    The No. 12 Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Team pulled off a thrilling comeback against the Lewis & Clark Pioneers on Saturday afternoon, chipping away from a 3-0 deficit to win 6-3. The Pioneers took control early of the match, winning all three doubles matches, but the Sagehens battled back in singles by winning all six matches to clinch the victory.

    The Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Team were dealt a tough 8-1 loss to No. 7 Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday night, salvaging a singles match that was won by Jacob Schoenherr. Despite the lopsided match score, the Hens came close in each other their singles matches, with three going to three sets while Jed Kronenberg got edged out by a pair of tiebreakers. The loss set the Hens back with a 12-7 record.

    The Pomona-Pitzer men’s tennis team almost came back against NAIA Arizona Christian, but fell by a narrow margin 5-4. After getting swept in doubles, the Sagehens battled back in singles, clawing back win by win, but the Phoenix secured two wins in singles to claim the victory.
