The Pomona-Pitzer Athletics Program combined for the most student-athletes named to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic teams, leading the conference for the third straight season.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the 2017-18 Scholar All-American Team on Wednesday, June 27, naming 15 members of the Pomona-Pitzer Swim & Dive program to the list.
NORFOLK, VA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Swimming and Diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III Scholar All-American Teams as announced by the CSCAA.
The College Sports Information Directors of America named Mark Hallman of the Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Swimming & Diving program to the Google Cloud Academic All-America At-Large Team. This award is given to the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
2018 marked a successful year for the Claremont Colleges Rugby team as the Men's (Lions) and Women's (Foxes) teams placed high in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO). Several Pitzer students shone during the season as Dana Alimena ('19) of the Foxes was selected by NSCRO to be on the Select 7s team while Abraham Asante ('20) was nominated for the Penn Mutual Life of Significance Award.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) named Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Tennis Head Coach Steve Bickham onto the ITA Board of Directors on Thursday morning, announcing 18 other members whose work will begin July 1, 2018. The 19 members, seven of whom are ITA Member Coaches, will be working together to support the ITA and advance the sport of college tennis.

The final day of the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship bode well for the Pomona-Pitzer Men’s and Women’s Track and Field program as the afternoon ended with two Sagehens, Andy Reischling and Helen Guo, taking home All-American honors. Despite the heat and the high humidity over in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the Sagehens battled through the elements and showed their best effort at Roger Harring Stadium.

The first day of the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship went well in the Pomona-Pitzer Track & Field Program’s favor as the Sagehens saw Andy Reischling and Jessica Finn take home All-American Honors while Danny Rosen qualified for the 3000-meter Steeplechase Final.
The NCAA announced the qualified competitors for the 2018 Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday, May 19. Three members of the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field program and three members from the women's program qualified for the National Championships and will be competing at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin from May 24-26.
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Andy Reischling as the recipient of the 2018 West Region Athlete of the Year. Reischling is already having a wildly successful season in which he won SCIAC Athlete of the Year and qualified for the NCAA in the 5000-meter and 10,000-meter runs.

For the individual championships, the committee selected seven singles players from each of the four regions based on win-loss record, strength of schedule, and eligibility.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named 10 different athletes from the Pomona-Pitzer Men’s Track & Field Program to the All-Region list in 15 different events on Monday morning. This honor was given to the top-five individuals in each event from each region.
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named three different athletes from the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Track & Field Program to the All-Region list for four different events. This honor is awarded to athletes who finished within the top-five in their respective events in their region.
